POSITION SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Marketing Intern provides general administrative support for all departments of the waterpark. This position will also be cross-trained to assist in other areas of the park as needed. Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Marketing majors are preferred for this position.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assisting with events
  • Assisting with onsite and offsite setup and distribution of materials
  • Assisting with social media promotions and posts, including Facebook, SnapChat, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest
  • Some photography
  • Assist with radio remotes, media days, press releases and general park promotion
  • Intern will have the opportunity to learn about website updating, Google Analytics Reporting, SEO, PPC campaigns, geotargeting, geofencing, and more

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to wet and or humid conditions; outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and/or Professional Certification

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Current Marketing major preferred

 

Experience

 

  • Prior Marketing experience preferred

 

Specialized knowledge

 

  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles
  • Basic understanding of public relations, social media and communications

 

Skills

 

·        Strong administrative skills

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Flexibility to work evenings, weekends & holidays

·        Strong computer experience including MS Office and Outlook

·        Ability to work independently

·        Maintain a high degree of confidentiality

·        Successful completion of a criminal background check

·         Successful completion of a confidentiality agreement

·         Must be a hard-worker with a go-getter attitude

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with the public and other team- members in verbal and written form
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Follow and enforce all waterpark standards
