Department Type

Functions include media relations, advertising and promotions, development of publications and materials promoting the Waterpark and supporting the Waterpark’s admissions, retail, and oversight of external and internal communications. This candidate is also responsible for leading efforts in order to ensure positive Brand management.




  • Develop and implement appropriate written policies for guiding marketing activities.

  • Create, disseminate and promote institutional and departmental goals to internal and external constituencies through periodic reports.

  • Work collaboratively with all Waterpark departments to determine priorities and to maximize promotional opportunities.

  • Design and implementation of print communications program working collaboratively with appropriate departments and managing vendor relationships as needed.

  • Oversee the writing and editing of a variety of Waterpark messages and publications for a variety of different audiences related to season passes, retail, and special events.

  • Oversee the Waterpark’s social media presence to help ensure effectiveness and consistency in tone and frequency of messages.

  • Act as manager on duty.

  • Ability to define goals, meet urgent deadlines, organize and prioritize projects.

  • Significant computer expertise; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and a variety of design-related software.

  • Must have flexibility to work evenings/weekends and holidays.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing preferred

  • 3 + years experience in marketing, public relations, communications or related field preferred


Working Conditions:


Some tasks can be performed in a climate-controlled building environment while others are performed outside, working on mild days as well as days of extreme heat and extreme cold. The Waterpark is located within a beautiful park setting. While performing the duties of this job, some days may be focused on computer or telephone work at a desk, which will require typing dexterity, the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, a clear speaking voice, an ability to hear clearly, and to sit for long periods of time; other days may require vigorous physical activity, such as walking around Waterpark grounds, climbing stairs, prolonged standing, as well as moving or lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
